Canadian mezzo-soprano Georgia Burashko has been celebrated for her “full-bodied and velvety” voice and “nuanced” interpretations (Olyrix). Currently on tour with Les Arts Florissants and Le Jardin des Voix as a soloist in Purcell’s The Fairy Queen, Georgia looks forward to performances at La Scala and Versailles Opera House after celebrated stops at The Lincoln Centre, Paris Philharmonie, and KKL Luzern. She subsequently embarks on a solo recital tour of her own this season across The Netherlands with 14 stops including Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, Tivolivredenberg Utrecht and De Doelen Rotterdam as The Dutch Classical Talent (Spring 2024).

The 23/24 season saw Georgia performing Handel’s Messiah under the baton of Nicholas McGegan, with both the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra and Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, and Jeanette Sorrell with the National Arts Centre Orchestra. Burashko also looks forward to making her debut at The Bach Festival in Leipzig with the Netherlands Bach Society in the spring.

Her diverse operatic roles, from Juno in Orphée aux Enfers to Zerlina in Don Giovanni, reflect both vocal prowess and heartfelt delivery on stage. In early 2022, Georgia premiered J.S. Bach - The Apocalypse, a joint opera production with De Nederlandse Bachvereniging and Opera2Day which toured the Netherlands. She reprises the role of Dieuwer with the company throughout the 23/24 season. Other operatic credits include Nerone (Agrippina), Tirinto (Imeneo), Zosha (Farewell Auschwitz), Cari Bayar (Lizée and Ivany’s No Ones Safe), and Dritte Dame (Die Zauberflöte).

In 2022, Georgia released her debut album with Italian harpist Michela Amici entitled Dal suono dolcissimo. Featuring a track list of 17th century Italian music, and new works for voice and baroque harp, Burashko and Amici toured their program in recital across both Italy and the Netherlands.

Now based in Paris, Burashko completed a Master's in Early Music from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag and was a Young Bach Fellow with De Nederlandse Bachvereniging for the 2022-23 season. Georgia was a 2019 Rebanks Family Fellow at the Glenn Gould School (Toronto), and received a Masters in Early Music with Distinction from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag, where she attended as a Holland Fellow with full scholarship. Georgia holds a Bachelor’s degree from McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, a Master’s degree from the University of Toronto Opera Division, and has completed residencies at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Royaumont Abbeye, and with the Europäisches Hanse-Ensemble (Lübeck).
